Official launch of the blog

In case you wonder why some posts are password protected, and others appear only to disappear again after a couple of days: Don’t worry! Our blog is currently ‘work-in-progress’. The MA students are busy writing their posts, providing each other feedback, waiting for comments from the test readers (pupils from the Gymnasium Zum Altenforst in Troisdorf) and revising the texts.

The official launch will take place in our last course session on 8 February 2017.

Stefanie Pohle

Stefanie Pohle holds an M.A. and a PhD in Applied English Linguistics from the University of Bonn. In her doctoral thesis she investigated offer communication in Irish English business negotiations. Stefanie returned to academia in 2013 after working in an international organisation for ten years as Information Manager and Education Manager. She has been teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Applied English Linguistics, with a focus on pragmatics and research methodology. Stefanie’s main teaching and research interests include writing-in-the-disciplines (WID), intertextuality/plagiarism and discourse analysis. She is currently doing a Writing Consultant Training at the University of Education in Freiburg i.Br. and is pursuing professional development certificates in Higher Education Didactics and E-Teaching.
